Dr. Monin is Academic Dean and Professor of Strategic Management of emlyon business school. He received his Ph.D. degree in Management Sciences from Université Lyon III, France. Dr. Monin’s contributions have been published in the leading journal in strategic management, human resource management and sociology of organizations including: American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, etc. He has published with more than 25 different coauthors, including many MSc and Ph.D. students, and supervised and chaired more than 30 doctoral dissertations and HDRs. He currently works on the emergence and diffusion of palliative care in Kerala, India.

Dr. Monin received the W. Richard Scott Distinguished Award for Scholarly Contribution in 2005 for an outstanding contribution to the discipline by the American Sociological Association. He chaired the board of the AIMS (Association Internationale de Management Stratégique) from 2015 to 2017.

Over the last fifteen years. Post-integration processes in domestic and international M&As. Influences of distributive and procedural justice, exemplarity, trust and perceptions of cultural compatibility on post-acquisition performance (satisfaction and willingness to cooperate in teams). Empirical research has been carried out at Renault-Nissan & Air France-KLM.

Over the last ten years. Sociology of organizations, notably cultural sociology, (neo)-institutional sociology, and social movement theory. Ongoing topics include the role of social movements in field transformation ; the antecedents and consequences of erosion of boundaries between artistic categories and genre works ; the antecedents and consequences of innovation diffusion in cultural fields; et the study of markets for critical opinion. Empirical fieldworks relate to Gastronomy (France) and Wine (Bordeaux, Languedoc, Piedmont-Italy et Golan Heights – Israel).

More recently. Research on BoP (Bottom of the Pyramid) innovation in the field on insurance in India and catch-up innovation in Chinese Food Retail Industry.
