Global Football Industry | Football and Branding in the Digital Age

In September, the 5th Frankfurt Football Summit took place in Germany.
The event was organised by the ZEIT Publishing Group and offered an international platform of exchange on current trends in the global football industry.
It brought together international decision makers from clubs, leagues and the corporate world for high-level exchange and networking.
emlyon business school were represented at the event by Professor Simon Chadwick, Director of CESI – the Centre for the Eurasian Sport Industry of emlyon business school.
Chadwick delivered a keynote speech on football and branding in the digital age, during which he examined the ways in which clubs can build their brands using social media and digital technology.
Other speakers at the event included senior managers from FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, DAZN, IBM and Allianz.
High profile former players such as former German internationals Sebastian Kehl and Thomas Hitzlsperger also gave presentations.
With an audience of approximately two hundred and fifty people in attendance, the Summit proved to be an engaging, timely and hugely relevant event.
