Dear faculty, students, alumni and partners,On the occasion of Chinese Spring Festival, I would like to extend, on behalf of emlyon business school Asia, our heartfelt thanks to all of you, for your trust and support. I wish you and your families a happy and healthy new year, and let’s fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus!

In 2019 we acquired many honors and achievements. With globalization, digitalization, and innovation as its strategies and the improvement of employability as its mission, emlyon excelled in gaining AACSB and EQUIS reaccreditation and becoming top 20 business schools in Europe by Financial Times.

In this ever-changing era, we devote to our learners, and to consistent quality improvement.

The Global DBA Program is cultivating a growing body of academic industry leaders with a rigorous and scientific spirit. Integrating with DTTT (Digitalized Teaching the Teacher Program), the Global DBA program has become a total solution for the career transition of executives in the Asian region.

The Global EMBA Program has become the largest Sino-foreign cooperative EMBA program in terms of number of students. We won three awards in our first official participation in the Gobi Challenge for Business Schools in China.

The EDP Program has marked positive growth including the EDP for Global Culture, Sports and Entertainment Industry Leaders, the Asian Leadership Camp of Wellness Industry program and the DTTT Program have been offered on a constant and regular basis. The student size for the Global Mini EMBA Program for innovation management outnumbered all previous programs. The emlyon teaching center in southern China is to release EDP Leader programs for finance and technology innovation.

We have constantly improved quality of bachelor and master degree programs, reaching a study body of over 1,000/year. Our Asia Europe Business School—established jointly with East China Normal University—has recruited international students from 27 countries, accounted a third of the total students. In addition, BBA1+3 for undergraduates, and the MSc in High-end brand management, is to be launched this year in Asia.

"Innovation" is Our DNA

In 2019 alone, we established three industry-university-research centers by combining internal resources of various programs for answering the integral needs of corporate world.

The Center for Eurasian Sports Industry held an industry-wide forum at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Qatar University, and an annual forum jointly organized with Beijing Sports University will be implemented late this year.

The Global HR & Organization Innovation Center has released three reports: namely, Global HR Science & Technology Trends 2020, Global Compensation and Welfare Trends 2020, and 2020 Global Employer Branding Trends, with the publication of two books, i.e., Future Thinking of HR and "GREAT FUTURE" ART COLLECTION OF HR THINKING.

The Business Intelligence Center, in conjunction with National Social Science Fund of China’s Major Project Team, released the "Top 100 Smart Manufacturers in China", which was quickly and widely cited by many top financial media outlets and industry-leading enterprises.

In 2019, an event of far-reaching influence is planting the seeds: The Good Business Center joined a number of mainstream Chinese media companies in launching the Good Business Initiative. The year 2019 marked the significant year for emlyon business school Asia to fulfill its social responsibility, explore the wisdom of Eastern business, find the best practices in Asian business, exchange with western business ideas, and drive a global win-win economy.

We also launched, together with the Yicai Foundation, the "Be An Elite"—a public interest program for the Chinese workplace and elites—to examine China's professional values, mental state, development prospects, and work environment so as to set an example for China's future elites.

emlyon business school Asia has made significant progress in its alumni network. We founded “emlyon alumni North China, and has organized one annual conference, two dinners (welcome dinners for EMBA Freshman of Spring and Autumn semesters), three competitions (the Gobi Challenge, a Dragon Boat Race, and a Sports Carnival), and four forums (new retail, new health care, digital transformation, and 5G).

In 2019, we have achieved more cooperation with enterprise, including but not limited to NEOBAY, Sigfox SA, Wyndham Hotel, CHINT Group, Whytewoolf Group, Roquette China, Alibaba, and China Elite.

The key words of emlyon business school Asia in 2020 are: cooperation and co-creation, key breakthrough, and branding impact multiplication.

With cooperation and co-creation,we sincerely invite all alumni and partners to create the future together with us. We will be an incubator and accelerator for more innovative ventures. Meanwhile, we advocate the cultural concept of "emlyon forever," which means we will provide alumni and partners worldwide, whenever and wherever it is, with a continuous sharing of knowledge and resources to accomplish lifelong learning and value creation.

With key breakthroughs, besides consolidating our existing programs, we will carry forward our strategy of globalization by proactively responding to the “Belt and Road Initiative” and going south to further our connection with other areas of Asia. We have become a full member of the three major alliances, namely, Road University Alliance (ASR), the Alliance of the Belt and Road Business Schools (ABRBS), and the University Alliance of the Silk Road Belt (UASR). The future will witness closer cooperation between emlyon business school and top universities and business schools along the Silk Road.

And finally, with brand impact multiplication, we will continue to consolidate our four research centers, gain insight into Asia's economic development with focus laid on the transformation of the digital industry while at the same time generating more forward-looking and instructive research reports and results that can be used to empower relevant industries and enterprises. emlyon business school, we believe, will see its brand influence in Asia multiplied.

Let us join hands to embrace joyful surprises

and changes, and together write a wonderful new chapter of emlyon business school.
