Vice President Mark Smith Visits Harbin Institute of Technology to Advance Strategic Cooperation

On May 23, Mark Smith, Vice President of emlyon business school, together with Wenlong Xing, Dean of the emlyon business Asia Campus, Nikola ZIVLAK, Associate Dean for Programs and International Cooperation of emlyon business Asia Campus visited Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). The delegation was received by Liu Ting, Vice President of HIT, at the university’s International Campus Conference Center.
During the meeting, Liu Ting highlighted emlyon’s reputation as a leading institution in international business education and innovation research, while emphasizing HIT’s outstanding achievements in engineering and technology. Since establishing a strategic partnership in 2022, the two institutions have achieved significant progress across multiple areas of collaboration. He expressed confidence that both universities would further strengthen cooperation in teaching and research, expand the scope of collaboration, and work together to build a model for Sino-French higher education partnerships while cultivating high-caliber interdisciplinary talent.
Mark Smith noted that HIT’s academic excellence and educational achievements were highly impressive. He reaffirmed emlyon’s strong commitment to its partnership with HIT and expressed the school’s desire to deepen collaboration in areas including joint talent development, collaborative research and innovation, and industry-academia integration. He emphasized that these efforts would further strengthen the strategic partnership and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial development.
During the visit, the emlyon delegation also attended the International Conference on Sino-French Digital Intelligence Integration.
Representatives from HIT’s Office of International Cooperation, Institute of Science and Industrial Technology, Academic Development Office, and School of Management participated in the related activities.
