emlyon business school is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Chenho CHAO as Dean of Faculty and Research, emlyon Asia, effective July 1, 2026.

This appointment reflects the school’s recognition of Prof. CHAO’s outstanding academic leadership, long-standing commitment to emlyon business school, and sustained contributions to teaching, research, and faculty development. It also reflects the school’s continued strategic focus on strengthening academic structures at the Asia Campus and advancing research innovation and educational development.

Prof. CHAO is currently a Professor of Marketing at emlyon business school and serves as Academic Director of the Global DBA Program (Asia track). He has been actively involved in key academic governance and program development initiatives within the school.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Business and Marketing from Saint Louis University (USA) and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Columbia (USA). Prior to joining emlyon, he taught at Baruch College, City University of New York, and William Paterson University of New Jersey, bringing extensive international experience in higher education teaching and research management.

Prof. CHAO’s research focuses on consumer behavior, cross-cultural marketing, emerging market strategies, artificial intelligence and consumer decision-making, as well as ESG and sustainable marketing. His work has been published in leading international academic journals and is widely recognized in the field of international marketing and consumer behavior research.

In his new role, Prof. CHAO will be responsible for faculty development and research advancement at the Asia Campus, further promoting academic excellence and research innovation, strengthening an international faculty community, and fostering interdisciplinary and cross-cultural academic collaboration, in support of the long-term development of the Asia Campus and its global academic network.
