emlyon business school Founded in 1872 by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emlyon business school is a prestigious international institution with a stellar global reputation. The school currently hosts 9,260 undergraduate and graduate students from 130 countries and regions, along with more than 4,000 executive education participants. Its four strategically located campuses are in Lyon, Paris, Shanghai and Mumbai. The school has also forged strong academic partnerships with 220 top universities and institutions worldwide. To date, emlyon has cultivated a network of 48,000 alumni spread across 130 countries and regions, making significant contributions to a wide range of industries.

The year 2007 saw the inception of emlyon business school Asia in Shanghai. The school currently offers overseas bachelor and master programs, GEMBA and GDBA courses, and diversified EDP courses.
In 2013, emlyon Asia joined hands with Beijing University of Post & Telecommunication (BUPT), China’s most prestigious institute of higher learning in electronics and information technology, initiating the BUPT-emlyon GEMBA program.
In 2015, emlyon, together with China’s double-first-class university - East China Normal University, Minhang District government of Shanghai founded Asia Europe Business School.
In 2021, emlyon Asia and Shanghai International Studies University jointly unveiled the SISU-emlyon Dual-Degree MBA program.
In 2023, a Bachelor of Science program in Data Science was launched in collaboration with Harbin Institute of Technology.
In 2023, a joint program in New Media Management and Digital Economy was introduced in cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
In 2024, a 2+2 bachelor’s degree was unveiled in partnership with Tôn Đức Thắng University from Vietnam.
In building an industry-university-academia triple helix ecosystem and training international industry leaders, emlyon business school has established a number of research and innovation centers, including Good Business Centre (GBC), Centre for the Eurasian Sport Industry (CESI), Global HR & Organization Innovation Center (GHOIC) and Business Intelligence Center (BIC). More research centers will be set up to realize resource sharing and value creation.
Program Structure
To meet the study needs of Chinese entrepreneurs and executives in the process of globalization and digital transformation, emlyon GEMBA Programs has developed and launched a brand-new curriculum system. In addition to the traditional core modules, it has introduced two specialized modules of globalization and digital transformation and pioneered Knowledge Management in Digital transformation, Business Decision-making with Artificial Intelligence and other groundbreaking courses in China, while Action Learning and other integrated courses are scheduled throughout the learning process. During the Program, participants will also go to France to join the France Learning Trip.
France Learning Trip
Each participant will take part in the France Learning Trip in France. In addition to studying at our Lyon and Paris campuses, GEMBA Program will arrange business, cultural and art workshops as well as government and leading company visits for discussion and interaction to help participants experience French brands, culture, art, cuisine and many more, enrich their understanding of Western corporate management and society, and explore new ways to implement internationalization strategies in Chinese companies.
International Business Trip in France is a compulsory and core module of emlyon GEMBA Program. The International Business Trip is subject to an additional cost of RMB 38,000, which is not included in the program tuition and is payable to emlyon business school Asia Campus. The fee covers the cost of studying in France, including workshops and company visits in Europe, land transportation, accommodation, breakfast, lunch, tea break and some dinners. Round-trip airfare and part of accommodation and meals shall be borne by the participants.
