Students from the MSc in Leading Sustainable Transformations (LST) embarked on an inspiring European sustainability study trip from April 12 to 17. Beginning in Paris and traveling through Brussels, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam before returning to Paris, the journey provided a unique opportunity to explore sustainability challenges and innovative solutions across Europe.
The study trip focused on key themes including sustainable development, food system transformation, future agriculture, corporate social responsibility, and urban innovation. Throughout the week, students visited leading institutions and organizations such as the European Commission, EIT Food, Nestlé, Triodos Bank, Growy Vertical Farm, the Port of Rotterdam, Floating Farm, Siemens Future Food, and ACT Group.
Through this immersive experience, students gained firsthand insights into Europe’s cutting-edge practices in policymaking, business operations, and agricultural innovation.
By connecting these observations with concepts learned in the classroom, they examined how different organizations design and implement strategies for sustainable transformation, while exploring effective governance and management approaches. The experience strengthened their interdisciplinary mindset and leadership capabilities, while enhancing their ability to translate sustainability principles into real-world business and societal impact.
In addition, direct exchanges with corporate executives, innovation teams, and government representatives provided valuable exposure to international collaboration and cross-cultural communication in practice. These interactions further equipped students with the skills and perspectives needed to lead sustainable transformation initiatives in a global context.
