The "International Business Acceleration Program 2025 (IBAP2025)" and the 12th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC) Roadshow were successfully held at the Neobay Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub in Shanghai. Guided by the Talent Work Bureau of Minhang District, Shanghai, the event brought together students, entrepreneurs, scholars, and industry experts from around the world, aiming to promote international collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, and empower tech entrepreneurs and the next generation of business leaders.

Professor Lan Sai from emlyon business school, serving as a mentor at Neobay, was invited to act as a judge for the pitch sessions and a distinguished panelist for the roundtable discussion.

During the roundtable forum, Professor Lan Sai, Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management and Academic Director of the Executive Development Program (EDP) at emlyon business school, shared forward-looking insights on technological innovation and sustainable business models. He emphasized that disruptive technologies create competitive advantages for enterprises by opening up new markets or "Blue Oceans" and pointed out that innovation is the key to technology commercialization. Professor Lan further explained that disruptive technologies not only reshape existing market landscapes but also catalyze entirely new market demands, unlocking fresh growth opportunities for businesses. He advised entrepreneurs to start by targeting low-end markets to avoid direct competition with established players, and gradually move upmarket as they accumulate user data. This strategy not only helps startups gain a foothold with limited resources but also enables them to refine their products and services through continuous user feedback and market insights, ultimately achieving scalable growth.

Moreover, Professor Lan stressed the importance of a robust business model, which he identified as a critical factor for business success. He noted that while technological innovation is essential, it cannot achieve commercial success without a sustainable business model. He recommended that entrepreneurs focus on flexibility and adaptability when designing their business models to navigate rapidly changing market environments. Professor Lan also highlighted the need for entrepreneurs to pay close attention to evolving user needs and maintain competitiveness through continuous innovation.

Professor Lan's insights provided practical strategic guidance for entrepreneurs, showcasing emlyon business school's profound expertise and global perspective in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. As one of the world's leading business schools, emlyon not only emphasizes theoretical education but also supports entrepreneurs through its executive training programs and global partnership networks, offering practical experience and resources to help them achieve breakthroughs and growth in the global market. Professor Lan's sharing not only inspired the participants but also further underscored emlyon's pivotal role in advancing the global innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The event not only facilitated global collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship but also explored the "Triple Helix Model" of government, industry, and university synergy, highlighting the efforts of the Neobay Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub and the Shanghai Minhang Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park in building an open innovation ecosystem. By gathering global wisdom and resources, the event provided a valuable platform for tech entrepreneurs and future business leaders, further driving the sustainable development of the global innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
