Rotterdam: Europe’s Gateway to Global Trade
The journey began in Rotterdam, where students visited Unilever, innovative startups such as Cappi, and Stadshaven Brouwerij, before exploring the Port of Rotterdam. Observing one of the world’s largest logistics hubs in operation provided valuable insights into global supply chains and international trade. Rebuilt after World War II, the city’s bold architecture and open economic mindset highlighted a strong spirit of transformation and resilience.
Engaging with Europe’s Innovation Ecosystem
In Eindhoven and Amsterdam, students met with leading companies and institutions, including ProBio, Signify, Philips, Booking.com, and ING. Through discussions with industry professionals, they explored key themes such as sustainability, digital transformation, and global brand strategy—bridging academic frameworks with real-world business practice.
Cultural Immersion in Amsterdam
The program concluded in Amsterdam with a canal cruise and a visit to the Heineken Experience, where students discovered how heritage, innovation, and brand storytelling intersect. Informal exchanges over a canal-side dinner allowed participants to reflect on their learning and share insights from the week.
Beyond the Classroom
From ports and technology hubs to historic canals, this International Week expanded students’ global perspectives and encouraged deeper reflection on the relationship between business, culture, and innovation. More than a study trip, it was a meaningful learning experience that reinforces emlyon business school’s commitment to developing globally minded, socially responsible makers.
